About Us
Barana is an art institute established with the private investment of Kar-o-Andisheh Co. and managed by world-renowned musicians Tahmoures and Sohrab Pournazeri. It was founded on the basis of benefiting from the experience and innovative ideas of Iranian and international artists and experts with special focus on Iran’s rich culture and artistic heritage. This institute is comprised of an art and an executive department aiming to achieve the objectives below:
- Introducing and expanding Iran’s art and culture inside the country and abroad
- Developing and executing strategic plans with a focus on music
- Establishing a novel economic and industrial outlook with a focus on art music
- Preparing the ground for the presence and performance of prominent international artists in Iran
- Broadening the range of musical audiences inside the country
The institute’s artistic activities, at both domestic and international levels, are pursued with the following objectives:
- Increasing the quality of artistic activities in terms of content and quality of production and performance
- Increasing the participation of Iranian and foreign artists
- Preparing the ground for expansion of public interest in art
Barana has been regularly active in planning and holding a variety of artistic and cultural events, including concerts, music festivals, workshops, and seminars, with the presence of Iranian and foreign artists and experts. It has also successfully produced and distributed a number of best-selling CDs, DVDs, and books.
